Chris Burden’s large-scale sculpture Urban Light illuminated the star-studded red carpet at LACMA’s Fifth Annual Art + Film Gala honoring James Turrell and Alejandro González Iñárritu on Saturday night. Eva Chow and Leonardo DiCaprio cochaired the evening. Gucci presented the gala, and its creative director, Alessandro Michele, served as the gala host committee chair—thus, quite a few of the partygoers were clad in Gucci, including Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who stunned in a rose-hued silk chiffon gown; Brit Marling, who wore a pink silk-wool suit; and Gwyneth Paltrow in an emerald cocktail dress. Reese Witherspoon, Chloë Sevigny, Dakota Johnson, and a neon-pink-haired Jared Leto mingled over cocktails alongside art world aficionados John Baldessari, Catherine Opie, Cindy Sherman, and Barbara Kruger. Trays of champagne and tequila drinks were passed around while Alex Israel, Naomi Campbell, and Kim Kardashian West posed together for a picture. Jeremy Scott donned a crown and entered arm and arm with China Chow, just in time to take his seat for dinner.
