My favorite holiday beauty look (and surprisingly easy to do!)

Life since Covid has made me a lot more of a minimal, bare-face type of a girl. But when I popped into Nordstrom to pick up my favorite holiday candle (swear by this one), I got super excited about all the holiday palettes. I got a few newb beauty cabinet additions and wanted to do a holiday beauty look. If there’s one product you neeeeeed it’s this stunning eyeshadow palette. So good! Here’s a step-by-step breakdown of products and you can see the tutorial here.

1. MOISTURIZER

The first step of any successful makeup look – good skin! It’s been a minute since I’ve shared my latest skincare routine and need to share an updated one, but one product that’s been a staple since I discovered it is this moisturizer. It is a splurge, but my skin has seen such a difference – it is worth every penny. It’s one of those skincare products that your skin starts to crave if it takes you too long to re-order after you finish a bottle.

2. PRIMER

If you aren’t using a primer, you’re doing your skin and your final makeup look a disservice. Not only does primer make for a beautiful base, it also helps prolong and preserve your makeup so it lasts all day, AND it acts as a barrier to keep products from clogging your pores. For this look, we used this cult favorite – it goes on so smooth and has a pretty mattifying, blurring effect so your foundation goes on super smooth.

3. FOUNDATION – SHADE 360 BISQUE (N)

I’ve been using this foundation for years. It lasts aaaaaall day! It’s a medium to full coverage and has a super velvety matte finish that make for the prettiest base for any beauty look. I have super sensitive skin that can get irritated with a lot of foundations, but I haven’t had a single issue with this one. Love the coverage!

4. HIGHLIGHTER

I love all things Benefit, my makeup artist got me hooked on this highlighter. This palette has multiple bronzers (I swear Hoola looks good on any skin tone!) – I used the ‘Cookie’ highlighter. It blends so well and it’s the prettiest tone that works so well with pink and tan undertones.

5. EYESHADOW (HAPPY GLOW SHADES)

The holiday eyeshadow palettes out this year are sooooo good!! For this look, I used the ‘Happy Glow’ shades from this palette. The pigments so rich and beautiful and blend/build really well. I was shocked at how well some of the shimmer tones came through. Can’t wait to try the rest of the colors – the ‘Seduce Glow’ especially is so pretty! Also got this palette with more gorgeous holiday colors that are also subtle enough to use for an every-day beauty look.

6. BROW POWDER & BROW GEL

These is my go-to for brows – been using them both for years. It stays all day and comes in so many shades – I’ve used the pencil and pomade but the powder is by far my fave!

7. LIP LINER

This lip liner is universal – it’s so pretty on EVERY skin tone! If you haven’t given in the obsession, do it. You won’t regret it!

8. LIP GLOSS (SHADE: HALLUCINATION)

I got this gloss a few weeks ago and have been wearing on repeat (last seen here). It’s the prettiest nude gloss and the perfect finishing touch to a full makeup look or you can wear it on its own with a fresh face.

9. SETTING SPRAY

Another cult favorite – if you haven’t tried a setting spray (especially this one) it’s a game changer! Not only does it help your makeup last all day, it also helps keep it from transferring to your clothes (or worse yet, your S/O’s clean white tee haha). Also got this stocking stuffer version!

The 90’s-2000s biggest lip trend is hitting the fall beauty lineup this season. There are some childhood trends that you hope are never revived, and then some that you are praying make a long-awaited comeback. And you’ll find me on the front lines of the lip gloss welcoming committee! It’s super low-maintenance, works for any occasion, and gives you endless options (especially when you start adding lipstick to the mix!) Here are three of my favorite shades to kick off your gloss game!

BEST NUDE GLOSS: HALLUCI-NATION)

Juicy Tubes are back with lots of new shades. This golden nude has the prettiest shimmer! It keeps your lips hydrated for 4+ hours and actually has Vitamin E to help hydrate and soften your lips. This shade is so good! I really love mauve for the holidays, but in a matte in can read a little older so I love it in this gloss to keep it feeling more youthful. It’s got the the perfect tint of warm undertones so it will be flattering on any skin tone. Also a great color to dress up for date night or holiday festivities by layering with a rich, bold lip for a luxe beauty look.

BEST EVERY DAY GLOSS: (SHADE: SPRING FLING)

The best part of finding the perfect lip gloss is how effortless it is. No mirror necessary and you can reapply as often as you want! Top off the perfect ‘no-makeup’ makeup look with your go-to gloss color. This is the prettiest pale subtle pink (love the creamy tone!) to brighten up a rosy, flushed makeup look – it’s a timeless lip trend! Also love this coral color (shade: Melon Rewind) if you want some warmer undertones.

This is the vintage-inspired beach print we hung recently. I had it forever and had it custom framed – I am obsessed with the colors and it’s doing double duty giving us a little taste of Europe to makeup for our lack of traveling this year, haha.

6. FREE PEOPLE SHORTS

The shorts so good, I have them in 5 colors. They are pretty true to size – I wear a size small. They are a true high-waisted short and suuuuper comfortable. The cut is also really flattering and all the colors are just as good in person. They are constantly selling out so I’m shoot right now that they have most colors in a few sizes!

This was one of my birthday gifts for Ollie this year but I also love it for a baby shower gift for a mama-to-be. They have tons of color and customization options. Honestly the whole shop is so cute!

4. NASA SWEATSHIRT (UNDER $10)

Graphic sweatshirts are always a win in my book, but especially when they are under $10. Love this one a little oversized – perfect for loungewear or with some high-waisted mom jeans and combat boots.

3. CAMEL COAT (AVAILABLE IN BLACK – SIMILAR HERE AND HERE UNDER $100)

A camel coat is a timeless classic – this one sold out so fast (still left in XXL) but also comes in black. This one is super similar (under $100) and also love this gorgeous teddy version!

2. CHELSEA BOOTS (LAST SEEN HERE)

I originally got these boots in this pretty sesame color but they sold out almost immediately – buuuut they just restocked them here! They will 100% sell out soon so I definitely recommend pulling the trigger if you’re on the fence! The black is almost sold out at Nordstrom but I found more sizes here. They are super comfortable and also waterproof. They come in multiple colors and are all so good. Hands down my favorite chelsea boot ever! They run true to size I got a size 8.

1. SHEARLING BOOTS

And drum roooooll…… honestly not surprised that these shearling boots were topped this month’s best-sellers list. These are my most worn boots this season. I got them in the black leather and the brown suede and wear both equally. I love the shearling detail and the pretty brown trim/laces. I also found amaaazing dupes pictured/linked below if you’re looking for a budget-friendly option.

When in doubt, just add a classic black ankle bootie! You can dress it up further with a pair of sheer tights and a bold lip, or keep it casual by adding a baseball cap. (Would also love a hooded sweatshirt dress paired with combat boots!) This pair is an investment but I’ve had them for years – they are amazing quality and such a pretty silhouette. Here’s a super similar option at a more affordable price point.

For an easy polished look, add a pair of faux fur mules and a classic crossbody. Mules are understated but add a little elegance to an otherwise casual hooded sweatshirt dress. I just added this pretty brown pair to my cart – so good! It’s the perfect outfit on its own or you can throw on a long wool coat over it for a chic layered look.

And last but not least, with white sneakers! I’ve worn these sneakers with every outfit you can think of, but they were made for this hoodie dress. It’s a great spin on a sportswear look, especially topping it off with a baseball cap. I’ll never say no to a comfy, casual, and chic combo. I love the slouchy sock and sneaker look, I just couldn’t find a pair of matching socks our laundry piles are next level right now.
