With the festive season upon us, I have been on the look out for pieces to include on my blog as inspiration for any upcoming gifts you may be after, and I’ve found that jewellery has been one that I have struggled with putting together. So, when Thomas Sabo asked me to pick a few of my favourite pieces, I couldn’t help but share them with you.
Thomas sabo is one of those brands that takes me back to my teenagehood. I remember one of my first ever *expensive* gifts from my boyfriend at the time was a charm bracelet, with charms that I spent hours ‘oohing’ and ‘ahhing’ over, making sure each charm represented something to me, as well as looked good worn altogether. Fast forward 6 years, and a long with my teenage love, the bracelet is no longer in my life, left behind in moving boxes, backpacking Asia or in between floorboards (no, really – I must have lost a dozen pieces down those pesky things!) However, my love for meaningful jewellery hasn’t dissapeared, and I knew instantly that I wanted to pick a charm bracelet, and one with charms that meant something.
From the little dinosaur that reminds me of my 3 year old brother, to the red jewelled heart which is reminiscent of my garnet birthstone, this bracelet makes me feel warm and familiar – as well as giving me all those teenage feels.
I also picked out a gorgeous simple but beautiful velvet choker necklace, which is a perfect piece for understated jewellery this season, as well as one of their gorgeous friendship bracelets, with a lotus design. Not known to many, but I actually have a mandala lotus tattoo on my back which I had done whilst I was backpacking in Vietnam, and this bracelet reminds me of that (as a tattoo on my back isn’t something I see very much!) It’s nice to be reminded of it and that travelling memory.
I shot these gorgeous photos in one of my favourite London Hotels, the Lodge Hotel in Putney. If you haven’t stopped by I would recommend visiting. The staff are wonderful and the decor is absoutely unreal (as you can see) and there are so many instagrammable moments inside and out (they have a telephone box and everything!)
Are there any jewellery brands which remind you of your teenage years?
