Living in Utah one of my favorite spots for a staycation is Park City. Sure it’s a great ski town in the winter but it is just as much a destination during the spring and summer, plus since it’s the off season you can usually get some good discounts. Cody and I love to escape up the canyon to Park City so I wanted to put together a list of some of my favorite places to eat, stay, and play.
PACK
Every staycation calls for at least one romantic night out for an excuse to get dressed up. I love this white lacy halter dress (under $100). It’s an easy silhouette but the lace makes it perfect for a night out to dinner. This black crochet dress is a total head-turner. Love these neutral ankle strap sandals and this white tote to complete the look.
It’s always a little bit cooler in the mountains than the valley which makes Park City so pack a light extra layer like a cute sweater or a lightweight trench. And of course don’t forget a pair of sneakers so you can take a hike and explore the beautiful scenery!
STAY
Montage Deer Valley: The Montage is really kid-friendly so it’s a great place to stay for a family getaway but it’s also great for a romantic weekend with your S/O. The Montage Deer Valley has the cutest little spot to make s’mores and an amazing spa if you need an extra push to relax
Washington School House: This boutique hotel is one of my favorites in Park City. It was built as a school in 1889 and later became a hotel. I’m obsessed with all the decor and love the quaint, cozy feeling. It’s also just a block from Main Street so it’s a great location if you want to be close to the action.
EAT
Baja Cantina: No matter where my staycation takes me, I always crave good Mexican haha. And Baja Cantina does not disappoint! We go every time we are in Park City.
Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory: We always hit Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory whenever we are in Park City – it’s one of Cody’s favorites. You can’t go wrong with anything there, but their caramel apples are
High West Distillery & Saloon: High West is a must see. It’s got that cool western saloon vibe and the distillery on site and the food does not disappoint.
DO
Trolley: There is a free trolley that takes you up and down Main Street. I love the old vintage feel of the trolley and the best part is it’s free!
Homestead Crater: Just a few minutes outside of Park City is the Homestead Crater! It’s a warm natural spring where you can snorkel, scuba, or just stick to swimming. We are taking the kids soon and can’t wait!
Get outside: For those staycations when you really want to get outdoors and see some amazing views, a hike in Park City is a must. Or if you want some cool sights without breaking a sweat, the gondola is a less strenuous trip to some great views.
Outdoor concerts: I love music so concerts are one of my favorite date night options. Add a beautiful spring or summer evening and you have a recipe for an unforgettable night. Park City has a bunch of great outdoor concerts lined up that would be perfect after catching dinner on your staycation.
Alpine Slide: This is a blast with the kids but even as adults Cody and I love the Alpine Slides. You sit in a luge-like sled and slide down the mountain on the track. Cody and I both go on separate sides of the mountain and race down the hill. I lose every time. Cody’s not afraid to go full speed – he will fly around those corners!
Let me know if you make it to Park City and what some of your favorite spots are!
XX, Christine
