NYFW is Here (Not Gone) With the Wind, Here are Five Weird Things to Know

14:25

The Fashion Week Diaries...

Day 1.

In case you haven’t heard yet, Saint Laurent’s Hedi Slimane skipped ahead of schedule and showed part 1 of his women’s collection last night in LA.

Well, never one to let anyone steal its thunder, New York Weather decided to stop being polite and start getting real.

Real, real cold.

In an effort to escape the almost-literally-freezing temps, street style photographers made Starbucks their temporary living room (which means this coffee shop/house of Josh Groban must be poised for a comeback!) across the street from Creatures of the Wind.

Creatures of the Wind played barista, too, and served goji berry tea from Dimes to all the show-goers. Speaking of show-goers, Orange is the New Black’s Natasha Lyonne sat front row.

After that it was off to Brother Vellies where live butterflies flew around the room like a former Limited Too customer’s wildest dream come true…

And while assessing the crowds at Butterfly Vellies, BCBG, Brock Collection, Creatures of Comfort and Starbucks, one thing was very clear:

If New York Winter saved its best cold front for Fashion Week, NYFW attendees saved their best interpretations of Alessandro Michele. The styled sea looked like one big Gucci ad: kooky glasses, red berets, cotton candy fur trim and so many horse bit shoes.

Woo!

And for a change of pace...

Leandra made like a human Pinterest board and curated her body (and a shop) with garments. Take a look.

Hey there, you fancy flamingo.
Layer over a turtleneck and dare someone to ask if you're cold
