The Keymaster has left the building.
In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, beloved comedian Rick Moranis — who hasn't appeared onscreen in a film or TV show since 1997's Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves — says that unlike Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Sigourney Weaver, he won't appear in next summer's all-female Ghostbusters reboot.
Why? The reason's simple: "It just makes no sense to me," Moranis tells THR. "Why would I do just one day of shooting on something I did 30 years ago?"
The intensely private star, who receded from the spotlight after his wife, Ann, succumbed to breast cancer in the '90s, has spent the intervening years raising his two children and performing the occasional voice acting role.
